Why I Support Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies & The Original Satoshi Vision

Life is very, very interesting.

First, I wanted to be an animator.

Then I got a job as a front-end developer while freelancing as web designer.

Then I got pulled into the world of entrepreneurship and small business.

Then I accidentally became a community catalyst in the startup ecosystem. Hey

Now I’m a Community Manager for a global fintech (IRESS) and heavily engrossed in the world of cryptocurrencies.

People have been coming to me more and more recently, seeking my advice around cryptos. Usually for advice around investment strategies or why I support Coin A over Coin B.

The truth is I got involved in Bitcoin because of its original social movement, when it was just a ragtag group of rebels and visionaries congregating at meetups and shady alleyways.

It was the COMMUNITY aspect that fascinated me the most.

All the attention and money that is now flowing into Bitcoin – and many other cryptos – is a result of a strong vision (set out by Satoshi Nakamoto in his whitepaper), a revolutionary idea, and NETWORK EFFECTS.

If you’re looking for an example of business ROI on ‘community’, study the origins of Bitcoin. It is all there for dissecting.

Below is something I captured on Y Combinator recently, which echoes my own personal sentiments, and why I hold strongly to the original Bitcoin vision.

For me, it’s not just about the money. The money will come.

If you’re looking to get into this world – sure, there are those only interested in making a quick buck – but stop for a second and learn a little about the ROOTS of Bitcoin.

It may just give you more confidence in its future.

Glen Carlson, co-founder of Dent Global, recently posted a video about wanting to play a bigger game.

For me, the world of cryptos feels like a game I’d like to play, especially since it is COMMUNITY-driven (my intended areas of master over the next 10 years are community, collaboration, and crypto investing).

Let’s see how this all plays out.

But this is why I believe in Bitcoin, why I stay true to the original vision of Satoshi, and how my love for communities connects into that.

I may have an idea of what I wish to achieve in life, but life also brings its own pleasant surprises.

Be clear on your why, stay open to the how.
